Our Stories

How did we get here?

Safety In Place is a family business, and although we share the same goal, our stories and how we got here are a bit different.

Below you'll find a little bit about us, and see that like many of you, we just want to help.

Dr. Bruce Montgomery

I have a passion for helping. I love to help our world, our environment and our people.

Bruce is a licensed building contractor in Michigan and Florida. He is a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist as designated by the National Association of Home Builders. He has also achieved an Executive Certificate in Home Modification from the University of Southern California.
Bruce has a wide ranging educational background, including a Master of Science degree in Entomology, with a Master of Science degree in Forestry and a Ph.D. in educational administration
He's a life-long learner who enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, kayaking, snowshoeing, and photography. He also volunteers in various capacities for the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore.
He has fallen in his home – twice. Neither were pleasant experiences. He hopes that the information that is provided here will help prevent many of you from falling.
